Aren't bloggers great?

Look what the postman brought me today - some suprise things from two lovely bloggers. I wasn't expecting anything, so it was wonderful to open the first parcel and discover a prize from the eponymous host of Dressing Mrs Exeter. I (somehow) managed to guess the mystery charred object she discovered in her oven, and as a reward she sent me this copy of Rachel Ashwell's The Shabby Chic Home.

I'm already anticipating curling up with this (and probably becoming mad with jealousy when she mentions her housekeeper, gardener and pool cleaner),as it has some beautiful photographs in it. Look at these gorgeous endpapers too.

Not content with sending me the lovely book, she also treated me to some delicious scented body butter by MOR. I'd never come across this brand before, but it smells edible - they've called it Marshmallow, but it reminds me of rose Turkish delight. Thank you so much Mrs E!

When I opened the next parcel it was to discover a wire frame for wreath making, sent to me by the talented crafter Becky from one of my favourite blogs Hazel and Blue. She showcased a fabric wreath she made on her blog here, and was sweet enough to send me a spare one from her stash. Thanks Becky!

  7. Bloggers are the best. Great gifts.

You asked how US thrift stores get their merchandise. I would say that the vast majority of the donations are donated by private individuals. Occasionally, you do have a company that makes a donation of new merchandise. but that is not as common. Most of the new merchandise comes from someone who bought it and never used it!

I just have to say how much I loved watching the wedding! I am very proud to be half English. No one does pomp and ceremony the way that the British do!

  8. Hello:
It is always exciting when the postman delivers a parcel. But, what delights you have been sent in the post.

The book would definitely be our 'cup of tea' but the frame for the wreath.....well, suffice to say that we are not in the least bit practical. However, we are sure that you will create something lovely and it was a very kind thought to be sent it!
