Look what I got when I went to Brighton a couple of weekends ago.
It's currently doing necklace hanging duty in the hall, as I haven't yet put up the vintage coat hooks which usually hold my jewellery.
I don't know if it would go with the rest of my bedroom, but I'm really tempted to spray paint it neon pink. Or maybe just the base? Anyway, I fully recommend embracing the Scottish hunting lodge look when it comes to jewellery storage. Although don't blame me if Herne the Hunter shows up to chase you down next time you're on a forest ramble.
What have you got to share this week? Link up below.
Lakota x
yes please. I want one. Damn it, the place next door to where I used to work sold them for £12 each, less horny though. Anyway.... I like the horny contrast against the bedroom wall, but if you go neon pink then that could also be amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat is the sort I'm after - I always seem to come across the uber tack-not-so-coolly-retro versions though! Love your collection of necklaces, really good way to display them and avoid the dreaded tangles!
ReplyDeleteJem xXx
That looks fabulous! I have a set in our lounge room but I would love a set in the bedroom to fling my jewellery on!
ReplyDeleteOh no Lakota, please don't spray paint it pink! Maybe just the wooden plaque if you really need colour, but I think you might wreck it and regret it, if you paint the whole thing (I hope you don't mind me saying so?)
ReplyDeleteIt makes a wonderful hanger for your jewels.

Don't worry, I won't really - it wouldn't work with the rest of my stuff. I can see it working in a room with loads of colour though. It would look amazing with Krista's stuff I think. Of course I don't mind your opinion - fire away, always!

I was going to say what Kylie did. Just the base....it's awesome though....great find!
Deleteit's ace, and i love the bunny necklace too x
ReplyDeletethats funny, i brought my husband a purple rhino head made out of paper mache for Christmas, we also have our fair share of horny jokes here xxxx
ReplyDeleteI came home the other day to find my eldest stepson boiling a pigs head in my stockpot because he wanted to get the flesh off so he could paint/sketch it, and 'no-one would give him a human skull'

Liking it, Lakota. Liking it a lot. Unlike Kylie I'd like it neon pink too or any other colour for that matter. xx
ReplyDeleteAcid green, shocking pink or turquoise for me! I love them but I'd need a bastard massive pair to support the weight of my jewellery! x
ReplyDeletePaint it!!!! I bought a fake deer head in lilac that gracefully hangs above my fireplace so GO FOR IT!!!!
ReplyDeleteI did this and have it hanging in my bedroom!! I painted the antlers gold and then wrapped lace around the mounting plate (although mine were just nailed on a board. It is funky but I love it in there, just don't hang over the bed in case it falls in the night!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great use for your pair of antlers. I'm looking for some neon pink paint to paint some furniture with, haven't found any yet, so I'm afraid I can't advise you. I reckon they would look good either way.
ReplyDeleteOoh paint it, but pale blue!!! Love the idea! I always want to find somet sort of brilliant storage for necklaces and earrings etc but my cork board and pins is doing the job at the moment!x
ReplyDeleteI've seen deer antlers used as necklace displays on Tumblr a lot lately and I've been planning to do this myself with two roe buck skulls but I have to fix them to the wall first! I just love the whole aesthetic of it! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea - it looks fab. Of course I approve of the hot pink - but obvs with glitter please.
ReplyDeleteI have done nothing ta-da worthy this week except stay and not kill anybody. Actually, that's a pretty impressive achievement. Well done, me!

Oh dammit do what you want with that fabulously hideous-gorgeous pair of antlers, just make sure it's on display and doing its bit to show off your fabbo necklaces!!!! Ooooh I fancy a bit of Highland kitsch I do. I have been seriously un-Tah-Dah! lately. xoxox
